Die-Cut Christmas Cards

These die-cut Christmas cards were designed around a pattern created as part of the visual identity of Toop Studio’s previous incarnation, Sphere Design Associates.

We took on the challenge of producing two paper-engineered abstractions based on the theme of the Christmas tree, by die-cutting from the same printed pattern. This saved us money, as we only had to do one print run to cover both die-cut designs.

Part of the appeal in receiving one of these cards is the interactive element—they arrive flat, and the recipient gets to ‘pop’ them out into their three-dimensional forms. This simple, tactile action adds a sense of playfulness and makes the card more memorable.
