In 2011, the BBC commissioned us to create a user-friendly website design for their Shows, Tours & Events platform. This web project needed to serve as a central hub where members of the public could apply to be part of a TV or radio audience, participate in programmes, or book BBC studio tours. The primary challenge was to develop an intuitive digital interface that simplified navigation while aligning with the BBC’s branding and accessibility standards. Our approach focused on crafting a streamlined, user-focused web experience. We developed a functional and visually engaging website layout that made it easy for users to browse opportunities and take action quickly. A key feature of the website architecture was a tab-based filtering system, allowing visitors to effortlessly sift through large amounts of information. This intuitive UI/UX design ensured fast, seamless click-throughs to deeper content, making the online platform both efficient and enjoyable to use. By balancing clarity, accessibility, and aesthetics, we delivered a website solution that successfully met the needs of both BBC audiences and internal teams managing the platform. The BBC Shows and Tours Website has since been updated, but retains some of the visual elements from our design.
